3 Mills Studios is committed to helping reduce the environmental impact from our own and our clients activities with a number of on site initiatives.
RECYCLING
We operate a simple to use mixed recycling scheme across the site and encourage all Studio clients to use the scheme.
PRINTER & TONER CARTRIDGES
There are recycling bins for printer toners and mobile phones on every production office floor throughout 3 Mills Studios. The materials collected will be sent to the charity Friends of the Earth
SET WASTE
We have a wood recycling skip on site that productions may use free of charge providing they ensure that only clean wood is put in there, i.e. no MDF, nails removed etc. Alternatively, there are a number of external organisations that could help you reuse or recycle as much of your set waste as possible.
Located close to 3 Mills Studios, the project collect 'waste' free of charge and display it in a warehouse. Teachers then choose from the materials available and use them in schools, playgroups etc

Offering a dedicated service to remove scenery from location or studios, this doesn't go to landfill but to a reclamation centre. Salvaged stock is then resold to the industry at vastly reduced prices

Buys unwanted props and costumes and then sells back to the industry. Wide range available

All other waste, skips or bins can be ordered by the production direct via our preferred suppliers only.

We also support the Green Screen campaign which encourages environmentally friendly filming in the capital. Launched in February 2008 by Mayor of London and Film London, the programme aims to help film, TV and commercial producers cut climate change emissions in the capital. It offers a practical package of support for film-makers. Productions can also identify how much carbon and waste they produce, and where best to make reductions using the Carbon Calculator.
